“We have sent an official response, and currently, the Parliament of Uzbekistan is reviewing the law on joining the EDB. We anticipate that this law will be adopted during the autumn session of Parliament,” noted Podguzov.
He emphasized that there are currently six countries in the EDB, representing the Eurasian region. However, according to him, there are other countries in this region that could also become members of the bank.
The Eurasian Development Bank (EDB) was established in 2006 by Russia and Kazakhstan. Armenia and Tajikistan joined the bank in 2009, Belarus in 2010, and Kyrgyzstan in 2011.
The bank's head office is located in Almaty. Additionally, the EDB has a branch in Saint Petersburg and representations in Astana, Bishkek, Dushanbe, Yerevan, Minsk, and Moscow.
The authorized capital of the bank is $7 billion: paid-in capital is $1.5 billion, and callable capital is $5.5 billion.
