The Senate has approved the 2025 federal budget bill.

During the second plenary session of the Senate, the Law on the "State Budget of the Republic of Uzbekistan for 2025" was considered.

It was noted during the session that the Law on the "State Budget for 2025" aims to enhance the welfare of the population, reduce poverty, further improve the quality of social services, promote the green economy, and protect the environment. According to the law, the inflation rate in 2025, taking into account economic conditions, is projected to be around 7%.

In particular, the law outlines the revenues of the consolidated budget for 2025 at 431 trillion sums, with expenditures set at 480.5 trillion sums, adhering to the target of not exceeding the consolidated budget deficit by more than 3% relative to GDP in the medium term.

The state budget revenues are projected to be 308.5 trillion sums, while expenditures are expected to be 344.8 trillion sums. The revenues and expenditures of state targeted funds (excluding inter-budget transfers) are planned at 66.4 trillion sums and 62.8 trillion sums, respectively.

The law also maintains a social focus for next year's expenditures, with 52% of the state budget expenditures, or 177.7 trillion sums, allocated to the social sector.

During the discussion of the law, senators paid special attention to increasing budget revenues, targeted spending of budgetary funds, and expressed their opinions.

The law allocates 3.6 trillion sums for environmental protection activities in the state budget for 2025, and 41.3 trillion sums are planned for healthcare, which is an increase of 19.8% compared to the expected execution in 2024.

Additionally, decrees and resolutions from the president and resolutions from the Cabinet of Ministers foresee the allocation of funds in 2025 for addressing pressing social issues in the regions, improving the infrastructure of mahallas, and implementing state significance activities.

In their speeches, senators emphasized that the law addresses issues related to expanding the budget's revenue base, creating decent living conditions for the population, reducing poverty, improving education, healthcare, and mahalla infrastructure, as well as promoting environmental conservation.

As a result of the discussion, the law was approved by the senators.
