IndieWire conducted a survey among 177 critics and journalists, based on which rankings of the best feature and documentary films, as well as the top directors, screenwriters, actors, and cinematographers were compiled.
The best feature film was recognized as "Anora" by Sean Baker, receiving support from 89 survey participants, 18 of whom placed it in first position. Coming in second was "Brutalist" by Brady Corbet, mentioned by 73 critics and also awarded 18 first-place votes.
In the "Best Director" category, Brady Corbet took the win, while Sean Baker secured third place. RaMell Ross, the director of "The Boys of Nickel," claimed the second spot.
The critics named the best actors as Marianne Jean-Baptiste for her role in "The Harsh Truth," Adrien Brody for his performance in "Brutalist," and Mikey Madison, who played the lead in "Anora." The top three documentary films included "No Other Land," "Dahomey," and "Soundtrack to a Coup."
