People are being asked to purchase tickets, with a promise of $137,000 for the winner.

In China, scammers have taken advantage of the popularity of the second season of the South Korean series "Squid Game" to implement a new fraud scheme, reports Reuters.

The perpetrators have organized challenges that require participants to purchase a ticket. Participants genuinely hope for success and the chance to win a substantial amount of up to one million yuan, which is approximately $137,000. However, in reality, participants simply lose their money. Individuals spend several hundred dollars to take part in these events, only to often face disqualification for dubious reasons stated in the rules.

It’s worth noting that the highly anticipated second season of "Squid Game" was released on December 26 and has already sparked intense discussions among internet users.
