DC Studios has unveiled a teaser trailer for the new Superman film, set to hit international screens on July 11, 2025.
In this fresh interpretation of the superhero, audiences will witness his encounters with a host of formidable adversaries. Additionally, for the first time on the big screen, his loyal companion—superdog Krypto—will make an appearance.
The lead role is played by David Corenswet, recognized by viewers from the film "Pearl." Lois Lane is portrayed by Rachel Brosnahan, known for the series "The Marvelous Mrs. Maisel," while the role of Lex Luthor will be taken on by Nicholas Hoult from "The Menu." The film also features Skyler Gisondo, Isabella Merced, and Anthony Carrigan.
The director and screenwriter is James Gunn, who will introduce audiences to a new version of this iconic DC Comics character. The first film of the revamped cinematic universe will also showcase new superheroes, including Green Lantern Guy Gardner, played by Nathan Fillion, Supergirl Kara Zor-El (Milly Alcock), and Rick Flag Sr. (Frank Grillo). The latter is familiar to audiences from the animated series "Monster Commandos" and the second season of "Peacemaker."
