On December 18, a press conference took place at the Sputnik Uzbekistan multimedia press center featuring Alikhan Akhmedzhanov, a representative from the Digital Development Department of the Tashkent city administration.
The capital's administration, in collaboration with international experts, has developed a design code for the city. This is the first standard collection that has been adopted as a regulatory document.
The city administration representative explained how the design code will enhance Tashkent's appearance and make it more appealing to both residents and tourists.
According to him, the development of the design code for Tashkent primarily considered the experiences of urban development in CIS countries, as well as the practices of Moscow, Kazan, and Novosibirsk.
“We don’t want to eliminate advertising entirely, but we aim for it to be organized. It is important to us that advertising meets modern standards, does not obscure architectural elements of the city, and is both convenient and aesthetically pleasing,” he stated.
The speaker also noted that all mosaics in Tashkent are free from advertising placements.
“If there is advertising on an apartment building, it is definitely illegal,” added Akhmedzhanov.
