Starting from the new year, Uzbekistan will eliminate the excise tax on mobile communication services. This was announced during a meeting chaired by the president, which reviewed the work accomplished this year and outlined the main plans for 2025 aimed at comprehensive support for entrepreneurship.
It is worth noting that the provision for the cancellation of the excise tax on mobile communication was included in the budget message for 2025. The budget bill was approved by the Senate on December 18.
The excise tax on mobile communication services was introduced in 2019 at a rate of 15%, accompanied by a reduction of the monthly fee for using a subscriber number to 2000 sums. In 2020, this rate was increased to 20%.
There were also discussions about the complete abolition of the excise tax starting in 2023. However, this did not take place.
