The new legislative initiative regulates key aspects of space activities, including objectives, principles, directions of state policy, and the powers of responsible authorities. The document outlines the tasks of the Cabinet of Ministers, the Ministry of Digital Development and Communications, "Uzbekcosmos," and the Ministry of Defense.

Among other provisions are issues related to conducting scientific research in space, the use of satellites for remote sensing, communication, and navigation, as well as the utilization of space rocket complexes, labeling, and disposal of space objects.

The Senate noted that the draft law places special emphasis on the application of space technologies to address challenges in science, ecology, defense, economy, and the social sector.

The law also includes provisions for monitoring the impact of space activities on the environment, natural resources, and public health.

Among the main objectives of state policy are the development and implementation of strategic directions and state programs in the field of space activities and facilitating the identification of violations of legislation in economic sectors through the processing of space images.

According to the senators, the adoption of the bill will enable the use of space capabilities for the advancement of agriculture, transport, geology, seismic safety, and other sectors of the economy.
