In the coming year, Uzbekistan aims to produce 26.5 billion cubic meters of gas. This figure was presented to the country's president Shavkat Mirziyoyev during a meeting on the results of the work of the "Uzbekneftegaz" company, reports the TV channel "Uzbekiston 24".
To achieve this goal, $2 billion in foreign investments will be attracted for the exploration of the country's gas fields.
According to the chairman of the board of "Uzbekneftegaz," Bahodir Siddikov, one of the main issues facing the industry is a shortage of personnel.
“The country has significant potential. However, we are noting a lack of technology and finances for its development,” he stated.
