The company "Uzbekneftegaz" plans to reduce natural gas production by 9.5% in 2024 — from 29.3 to 26.5 billion cubic meters. This was reported by the Uzbekistan 24 television channel.
To finance projects in extraction and geological exploration, the company aims to attract $2 billion from international financial markets. This will be made possible through ongoing transformation, an 8% reduction in costs, and an improvement in its international credit rating.
The chairman of the company, Bakhadir Siddikov, noted that "Uzbekneftegaz" faces serious challenges, including enhancing process efficiency. According to him, by 2025, the company will adopt a new operational format and will also strengthen staff training, collaboration with universities, and partnerships with international entities to attract technology and investment.
Energy Minister Jurabek Mirzamakhmudov added that more than 5.1 billion cubic meters of gas have been accumulated for the winter season to meet the country’s domestic needs.
