Leaders of Uzbekistan and Qatar explored opportunities to enhance their strategic partnership.

Practical implementation of agreements at the highest level and promotion of investment projects were the focus of the phone conversation between the President of the Republic of Uzbekistan, Shavkat Mirziyoyev, and the Emir of the State of Qatar, Sheikh Tamim bin Hamad Al Thani, which took place on December 17.

The leader of our state warmly congratulated the Emir of Qatar on the national holiday – the Day of State Foundation, sincerely wishing him health, prosperity, and success, as well as peace and flourishing for the friendly Qatari people.

Current issues regarding the further expansion of multifaceted cooperation and strengthening the strategic partnership between our countries were discussed.

The results of active contacts and exchanges were positively assessed. In November of this year, the first meeting of the Intergovernmental Commission and a business forum took place successfully in Doha. In October, events of the Qatar Culture Week were organized successfully in Tashkent.

Investment projects in energy, development of transport and tourism infrastructure, agriculture, healthcare, and other priority areas are being implemented with the participation of leading Qatari companies.

A regular direct air service has been established between the capitals, contributing to an increase in mutual tourist flow.

During the conversation, the heads of state paid special attention to the schedule of upcoming events in 2025, including the second summit of the "Central Asia – Cooperation Council of Arab States of the Gulf" dialogue.

There was also an exchange of views on current issues on the international agenda.
