Leaders of Uzbekistan and Russia discussed key issues related to bilateral cooperation.
During a phone conversation on December 11, the President of the Republic of Uzbekistan, Shavkat Mirziyoyev, and the President of the Russian Federation, Vladimir Putin, discussed pressing issues related to the further development and strengthening of Uzbek-Russian relations within the framework of comprehensive strategic partnership and alliance.
The discussion thoroughly covered the practical implementation of the agreements reached during the state visit of the President of Russia to Uzbekistan in May of this year, based on the "road map" approved by the leaders.
A high assessment was given to the fruitful outcomes of the recent meeting of the Joint Intergovernmental Commission on Economic Cooperation and bilateral negotiations that took place the day before in Moscow.
The importance of adopting coordinated measures aimed at ensuring growth in mutual trade turnover, accelerating cooperation projects in industry, energy, transportation, agriculture, and other sectors, as well as continuing active contacts at the regional level and among business organizations in Uzbekistan and Russia was emphasized.
There was a positive note regarding the expanding collaboration in the fields of innovation, artificial intelligence, education, and medicine. In November, successful events were held as part of the Days of Uzbek Culture in Russia.
An exchange of views also took place on international agenda issues and multilateral cooperation within regional organizations in the context of preparations for the upcoming high-level meetings at the end of December this year.
