At this time, as we conclude the harvest season in our country, I sincerely congratulate you and our diverse nation on Agricultural Workers' Day.
Dear compatriots!
Esteemed farmers and agricultural workers!
At this time, as we conclude the harvest season in our country, I sincerely congratulate you and our diverse nation on Agricultural Workers' Day.
I express my deep respect and warmest wishes to our skilled farmers, horticulturists, livestock breeders, experienced agronomists and mechanizers, leaders and workers of clusters, and esteemed veterans of the field – all those who grow and harvest bountiful crops, ensuring abundance and well-being in the homes of our compatriots.
Dear friends!
The global climate changes, natural disasters, and shortages of land and water resources observed in recent years have led to significant challenges in the agricultural sector.
Yet, despite these challenging conditions, thanks to your tireless efforts, this year the country produced 9 million tons of grain, over 3 million tons of cotton, more than 16 million tons of vegetables and melons, 5 million tons of fruits and grapes, 4 million tons of potatoes, over 15 million tons of meat and milk, and 30 thousand tons of cocoons. This truly exemplifies selfless labor worthy of the highest recognition.
Of course, we all understand well that the decisive factor in achieving such results has been the consistent focus on agricultural development in recent years, radical structural transformations in the sector, and the establishment of production relationships based on modern requirements.
Particularly effective has been the widespread adoption of advanced agro-technologies, scientific achievements, and innovations. This is clearly demonstrated by the abundant harvest obtained this year from 100 thousand hectares sown with disease and pest-resistant high-yield cotton varieties.
In grain production, as a result of applying modern resource-saving agro-technologies, the average yield reached 85 quintals per hectare for the first time. Notably, more than 6 thousand of our experienced farmers managed to exceed the threshold of 90–100 quintals.
Among our key achievements is the vegetable harvest cultivated using resource-saving intensive technologies over an area of 50 thousand hectares, where productivity increased by 200–250 quintals per hectare compared to traditional methods, yielding a net income of 6–8 thousand dollars per hectare.
Throughout the year, agricultural entities received 18 trillion sums in preferential loans and 176 billion sums in subsidies, and 11,600 units of modern, high-efficiency machinery and equipment worth a total of 3.6 trillion sums were supplied, which also played a crucial role in the successful completion of the season.
To adapt the country's agriculture to climate changes and mitigate its negative impacts, a corresponding National Program has been adopted for the first time. To ensure its implementation and support agricultural producers, over 160 million dollars from foreign financial organizations have been attracted.
It should be noted that this year, 343 new projects were launched in rural areas aimed at developing the food industry and improving the infrastructure for storage and marketing of products.
Over 180 thousand socially vulnerable rural residents and young villagers were allocated 75 thousand hectares of land to establish dehkan farms, creating more than 200 thousand jobs, which played a significant role in ensuring employment and increasing real incomes, thus reducing poverty.
To enhance profitability in household plots, 5,145 mahallas have been specialized based on the principle of "One Mahalla – One Product."
The population has been provided with 40 thousand heads of cattle, 82 thousand sheep and goats, and 260 thousand heads of breeding livestock have been imported to improve breed quality and increase production volumes.
Dear compatriots!
We have declared 2025 as the Year of Environmental Protection and "Green Economy" in our country for good reason.
You understand well the significant importance of this decision for agriculture, the future of which is directly linked to land and water resources.
The state program for the year, which is to be adopted, will undoubtedly open new opportunities for sustainable development in the sector, ensuring food security, implementing "green" technologies in agriculture, and growing environmentally friendly products.
For the systematic development of the agricultural sector on a scientific basis and the integration of innovative activities into all its branches, next year we will establish the Academy of Agricultural Sciences of the Republic of Uzbekistan.
The positive experiences of previous years will continue, and an additional 100 thousand hectares of land will be allocated to the population for organizing dehkan farms. In cotton cultivation, it is planned to implement proven advanced practices from China on 40 percent of the areas.
We will implement many promising projects in collaboration with our international partners.
The unified integration platform "Digital Agriculture" will be improved, and a comprehensive service delivery system for producers will be established based on the "one-stop-shop" principle.
We will also continue our efforts to improve villages and mahallas, develop social infrastructure, and create new jobs for rural residents.
Esteemed farmers and agricultural workers!
As you can see, we face large-scale tasks ahead. I am confident that you will actively participate in their implementation, utilizing all your strengths, knowledge, and experience, and contribute significantly to the development of agriculture in our country at a new level.
Once again, I sincerely congratulate you, my dear ones, on this wonderful holiday today, wishing you new successes in your noble and selfless labor, health, peace, and prosperity for your families.
Shavkat Mirziyoyev,
President of the Republic of Uzbekistan
