Трое представителей Узбекистана попали в список ста лучших экспертов по атомным технологиям в мире.

Three participants from Uzbekistan have made it into the global top 100 experts in atomic technologies.

Uzbekistan participated in the Global Atomic Quiz 2024, held in conjunction with the World Science Day for Peace and Development. According to a statement from Rosatom's press service, three participants from Uzbekistan ranked among the top 100 global experts in atomic topics, and the number of participants from Uzbekistan doubled compared to the previous year.

The Global Atomic Quiz is an international educational initiative by "Rosatom," aimed at explaining the fundamentals of nuclear physics, the role of atomic technologies in daily life, and the significance of nuclear energy in preserving the planet. The quiz has been held annually on November 10 since 2020, coinciding with World Science Day, and is available in 13 languages. Over the past five years, the project has attracted more than 65,000 participants from over 100 countries. Participants from Uzbekistan have been joining the quiz since 2021.

According to the organizers, this project not only allows individuals to test their knowledge in physics and technology but also broadens their horizons through additional information integrated into the quiz format. This year, participants learned how atomic technologies assist humanity in five key areas of life: "Green Energy," "Science," "Agroindustry," "Medicine," and "Transport and Industry." Notably, this year, participants had to compete against neural networks that were involved in creating some of the questions. Additionally, the quiz also took place offline at the Information Center for Atomic Technologies under the "Uzatom" Agency (ICAT).

“We are pleased that the Global Atomic Quiz attracted even more participants from Uzbekistan this year. This indicates that the project has won the hearts of our users and has become a much-anticipated event. The project expands its geography annually, and the questions are becoming increasingly creative and comprehensive. After all, the topic of atomic energy encompasses not only nuclear power plants but also medicine, agriculture, science, and much more. Such educational projects help engage more people, especially the youth, with the world of atomic technologies, fostering an understanding of their significance and benefits for humanity,” said Gulrukhso Rakhshanova, Head of the Public Relations Department and Advisor on Information Issues at the "Uzatom" Agency.

One of the winners shared his impressions of the quiz.

“To be honest, I didn’t think I would become one of the winners. It was a big surprise for me. The quiz consists of a collection of very interesting questions and options. I would like to point out that, firstly, there are no boring questions here. Secondly, everyone can discover something new for themselves. Thirdly, the level of difficulty allows everyone to test their knowledge and erudition. This encourages each person to seek and explore the topic. Overall, I am very glad to have participated. I highly recommend it. Good luck to everyone!” said Diyorbek Kholmuninov, a 4th-year student at the branch of the National Research University "MEI" in Tashkent.
