Over 1500 applications were submitted to the competition from scientists, along with about 200 from organizations.
The winners in the categories of "Scientist of the Year" and "Best Young Scientist of the Year" were awarded cash prizes.
The event featured presentations of new encyclopedias dedicated to Uzbek scientists, an exhibition, and a cultural music program.
The event's organizer, the company "Science and Innovation," also presented a report on its activities over the year, which included organizing more than 50 scientific conferences, publishing 79 books, and indexing the journal in RINC.
